People

(Reporter: mcorteel, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130910160258

Steps to reproduce:

When using the french keyboard layout, type a sentence and end it by a space followed by an exclamation or question mark.

Actual results:

The space before the exclamation or question mark gets deleted.

Expected results:

The space shouldn't be removed. Even better, if there is no space, it should be added.
In fact, the french rule is different than the english one: double punctuation signs (i.e. "?", "!" and ";") must be preceded by a non-breaking space.

Confirmed, source: http://french.about.com/library/writing/bl-punctuation.htm.

Anyway, I'd be happy to accept a patch for it. Don't think we would triage it with high prio before we launch FxOS in a French speaking country.

OK, maybe someday I'll find the courage to set up a dev environment and patch it!
