RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 924069

People

Details

(Keywords: dogfood)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20131011142852

Steps to reproduce:

Select any text (e.g. an ISBN) by click dragging with left mouse button.
Open a new tab and type the first characters of amazon.com (e.g. "am").
Hit enter and load the page.
Now try to paste the selection by middle clicking in the Amazon search box.

Actual results:

Instead of the previously selected text "azon.com/" is pasted instead,
because the highlighting in the URL bar overwrote the selection.

Expected results:

The previously selected text should be pasted and not some part of an URL.
I think this is a somewhat recent regression (27 or possibly 26). Very annoying indeed.
