Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130911155223 Steps to reproduce: middle clicking on a webpage Actual results: was redirected to a different webpage Expected results: should not be redirected.
Middle clicking a tab closes it here. Maybe the page in question is doing some kind of redirection when you navigate away. Could you please provide the URL of the problematic page for further investigation?
Flags: needinfo?(illumilore)
It happens on every website, when you click anywhere in the window, including this one.

Does it only happen if there's a URL in the clipboard? If so, this is a duplicate of bug 366945. The workaround is to set middlemouse.contentLoadURL to false in about:config. If you do that, does it fix the problem?

Ill, could you please try the workaround from comment 4? Could you also please try the following, to see if you still reproduce the issue: 1) try this with a clean profile: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles 2) running in Safe mode: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
For me, On windows XP i386, in FF 27.0a1, this problem has been fixed. I have tried both things said by Manuela in comment 6.
Sorry its comment 5 .... my mistake.[bugday-20131021]
the comment 4 seems to fix the problem

Thanks. It's likely that this is the same issue as bug 366945 then.
