926805 - Download dialog box to save files doesn't respond

Steps to reproduce:

Use FF, try to download a file to your desktop or try to attach/upload a local file on to any web site. 


Actual results:

In either cases, the download dialog box just opens up and immediately tells as "Enter name of the file to save...(Not Responding). When you try to end this, it kills all the active FF session.

Please note on any given day only once I face this issue. Once the session is closed and try to perform the same action on a new session, I no more see this error. However there are days on which I never confront this issue at all.


Expected results:

Download / Save dialog box should open up properly without "Not Responding" error.

Hi Vijayalaxmi,

I have tested your said steps with Downloads panel in FF 27.0a1 which is successful.

There are most probably following issues:
1. Plugin or any script is not responding.
2. Too many tabs running compared to memory of machine.
3. Incompatible addons.

Possible solutions are:
1. Try FF with safe mode or create new profile.
2. Reset Firefox.

This will definitely solve your issue.

It might be related to the directory Firefox tries to use for saving.

Could be File Handling.

Is this still an issue and how long do you wait before giving up ?
Do you use network shares to save your files ?
