User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130910160258
Steps to reproduce:
1) select a message
2) select menu Message > Edit Message as New (shortcut cmd-E)
or
2) select menu Message > Forward As > Inline
Actual results:
A new write window pops up, including the toolbar for HTML formatting. But default for message is plain text only.
Expected results:
Instead, the former message should be presented again, for modification of To, Subject or Body
The same malfunction can be observed when I use forwarding, inline
Hi, do you still see this with Thunderbird 38 or 45?

When I use "Edit as new Message" on a HTML message, this does open the message with HTML formatting options.
When I use it on a plain text message, it doesn't.
My setup is to use plain text as default. I feel that HTML is ok for HTML.
So my suggestion is: bug is fixed.
