Steps to reproduce:
http://adioso.com/au/melbourne-au-to-sydney-au-in-2-weeks
Open firebug and toggle "See flight details" in the body.
Actual results:
Scrolling is prevented.
Firebug exaggerates the bad performance making it horrible in firefox.
Expected results:
Why are these meta tags taking such a toll on the performance of the page?
Weirdly, removing the facebook meta og: and fb: meta tags in the head fixes this particular issue.

Found the source of the terrible performance.
An Addon called Operator was doing odd things because of the opengraph meta tags in the page.
Doh!
