Steps to reproduce:

Go to http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/.  Some products have a yo-yo discount that moves up and down and is locked in when you add the item to your cart.  It also starts a countdown timer that expires the locked in discount if you don't complete the transaction.  Close the tab, clear all cookies, and open a private tab and return to the site.


Actual results:

It remembers the countdown.


Expected results:

It should not remember me.

Do you know for a fact that this web site is using cookies to identify you, or some other data that is suppressed in private browsing mode?  It seems more likely they're identifying you by your IP address or some stronger method that's not circumvented by private browsing mode or clearing cookies.  Private browsing mode cannot and is not designed to make you completely anonymous.

Though I am completely satisfied with Drew's comment 1 explanation, still I will suggest user to give more detail else reply that issue has solved or not.

I can't believe they would be so stupid as to use the IP address, but it seems to be the case.  I just checked it at work and it seems a coworker recently used it so the timer from his cart came up for me.
