Details

(Whiteboard: webgl-conformance)

On my laptop with the specs

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2557M CPU @ 1.70GHz (4 CPUs), ~1.7GHz
4096MB RAM
Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
Intel(R) GPU driver version 9.17.10.2932
Intel(R) GPU driver date 12/14/2012 (up-to-date)

running https://www.khronos.org/registry/webgl/sdk/tests/conformance/glsl/bugs/nested-functions-should-not-crash.html
with both Firefox 24 stable and Firefox 27.0a1 Nightly (2013-10-17) immediately crashes the browser.

A callstack looks like http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/9f39a8ff-b0d1-4cbf-aeb6-549472131017
Each of Chrome 30, Chrome 32 Canary, IE 11 and Opera 17 pass the test without crashing.

Whoops, sorry about that, not a dupe.

This looks like the code is just overflowing the stack from excessive recursion, but I guess it could be bad.
Status: REOPENED → NEW
Does this still crash for you with a more recent Nightly? The test passes for me.

Tested with Nightly 27.0a1 (2013-10-23) today, and I can still reproduce.

Looks like a dupe of bug 887223. We're crashing inside some kind of D3D graphics compiler thing.
