B2G desktop is expected to work on all platforms, bluez is linux only. Even on linux, people may not have bluez/kernel headers sitting around.
Bluetooth on B2G Desktop is considered a developers only feature, but it's REALLY nice to have around to debug B2G.
Hmm. I'm torn on this one. On the one hand, there's a chance we could make some tests around the bluetooth DOM even when we don't have adapters available, which might be nice to have. On the other, most people will never use this, and I don't see it being viable for testing until bug 793977 is fixed. Not saying it's not worth doing, just putting in my 2 cents.
Ha, I think i misunderstood you in the beginning. I thought you encourage us to support it as the default config...
I see bug 793977, but the problem is which bluez version we shall base on? Since we never try to maintain bluez stack. Bluez on desktop is different from android, even bluez from codearoura is different from aosp version. If desktop distribution is trying to switch to bluez 5.x and we cannot easily support some many different bluez stack variants since dbus interface might change.
