RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 877479

People

(Reporter: kend, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130910160258

Steps to reproduce:

Edited about:config and set browser.tabs.autoHide to "true."
Closed all but one tab in Firefox.

Actual results:

Tab bar is still visible.

Expected results:

When only one tab is open, the tab bar should autohide.

This config setting was a response to a VERY unpopular decision to remove the autohide feature, because the new Australis theme could not be properly designed to work with it. Rather than fix Australis, Mozilla unwisely opted to remove this popular feature.
Hi Ken, there are some possible workarounds discussed here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2706317 As there are several other duplicate reports of this issue, it might be better to go through mailing lists or forums to talk about the feature and its behavior. Thanks.
