Not really. In English this is LICENCE when you speak about the document itself. http://www.translegal.com/legal-english-lessons/licence-vs-license

For US-english this is always license.

I don't care that much but I would prefer a fake native english speaker for that. Let me bug one of them.

Now that I'm thinking about it again, let's not bug gal, but Gerv, which makes more sense imo.

As a Brit it makes me sad, but I agree that calling the file LICENSE is the standard convention, and we should do that.
