look at http://lxr.mozilla.org/seamonkey/search?string=messagechild, all we 
ever do is:

ignore="http://home.netscape.com/NC-rdf#MessageChild"

I think that's a throw back to when we had a message data source.

removing all references to it should be a performance win, right?

find anything in the template code that pays attention to it...

It's been a while...

I think we used this so that the folder pane never tried to look for Message
Children, because the message data source could handle both Message Child and
Child and we didn't want to get messages when interating over the folder pane.
