This bug was opened as a edge case from bug 911158.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch Firefox 24 beta 1 or other newer beta.
2. Make it the default browser and pin it to taskbar.
3. Open a website and drag it to the taskbar icon.
4. Update Firefox to the latest beta on "betatest" channel.
5. Close Firefox.
6. Right click on the pinned icon and select the pinned website.

Expected results:
Firefox opens and loads the pinned website

Actual results:
Windows error dialog: Unable to open this Internet Shortcut. The protocol "FirefoxURL" does not have a registered program.

Notes:
23 beta 10 upgraded to 25 beta 11 - good
24 beta 1 upgraded to 25 beta 11 - bad

Note that this problem is only if you set your default browser (or install with default option checked on prewin8) in Firefox 24.  You can fix this problem in Firefox 25 by setting your default in Firefox 25.

If you set your default (or install) in Firefox23, or in Firefox 25, you won't get this problem.

Closing since this is not reproducible anymore using latest Firefox 123.0 build.
