User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 SeaMonkey/2.21 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130916112225
Steps to reproduce:
Beginning with SM 2.21 (and now in 2.22b1) I've been experiencing repaint issues of browser windows when hardware acceleration is on. When I open any browser window and resize it vertically the top part with the menu, location bar and tabs becomes black (see attachment). When I resize the window horizontally it goes back to normal.
System:
- Windows 7 32-bit, 3GB of RAM
- video card: GeForce 7300 GT with updated drivers
The problem appears even in a fresh new profile with no installed extensions, both in the Classic and Modern themes. The corresponding Firefox 24 release doesn't exhibit this problem on the same computer so it's SM specific. Also, there is no problem with Mail/News windows - only browser windows are affected.
SM 2.20 and earlier have always worked fine on this system with HA and still do. Something got broken in 2.21 and probably affect the type of video card that I have.
Actual results:
Black areas in the top part of the browser window.
Expected results:
No repaint issues should occur when resizing browser windows.

This wasn't resolved but both the version and hardware are more or less obsolete now. My bet would be a driver or hardware problem. Does it occur with 2.49.2 or a later prerelease?

Hard to tell, I replaced my hardware some time ago so I can't test it any more.

Then lets close the bug. I am using Windows 7 on several computers with SeaMonkey and did't see it yet so probably configuration/system specfic.

Agreed, no need to worry about this bug any more, this must have been the graphics card, which was already quite old fashioned when I used it.

The 8600 series was also affected by the Nvidia bug. Usually resulting in stripes in the picture, a driver error or a black screen. But who knows what happens when the chip begins to fail.

Opps wrong bug. The 7300 wasn't affected by this.
