When trying to login with Person to crash-stats.mozilla.com today

Grr! I've seen this too. Locally it can happen if you use a LocMemCache and restart the server but don't refresh the browser. In production, I have no idea how it could have happened but I'm going to try to investigate it.
Just curious, did you check to see if this was the result of memcache evictions?

Persona moved away from that state-based way of working a long time ago.
