User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130911163500 Steps to reproduce: 1.) Enter a long search string in Google (see next step for how long) 2.) Initiate the search The search results are displayed; be sure that the - now smaller - textfield on the top cuts of the rightmost part of your text (if not, you need to search for some longer text; I entered 27 chars in my latest attempt on my phone) 3.) Click into the textarea containing the search The search box widens, the cursor is somewhere in the middle. 4.) Click on the right of the text field to move the text cursor to the end 5.) Press backspace to delete a character Actual results: Instead of deleting the last character, the cursor is back in the middle and the text is garbled. Example: I entered "supremacy your will be done" and I got with one press on backspace "supredone will be done" (the cursor is on the end of "supredone") Expected results: The cursor should have deleted the last character instead.

Hey there, thanks for the bug report. I was able to reproduce this on Firefox 25 on Google Play but not on Firefox Beta (26, which will be released this week). This seems fixed on newer channels (Beta/Aurora/Nightly). I am not entirely sure which bug fixed this in particular, but maybe (Jim?) can dupe this appropriately.

Easier steps to reproduce: The text doesn't need to be long, but at least two separate words need to be entered. Just click on the first word and then reposition the cursor to the end as described above. Example: "legend of grimrock" turned to "grimrock of grimrock".
