During initial setup of email, it uses the default netscape mail server. It should prompt and ask to input your choice of SMTP servers. (Particularly if mail/news servers are not editable This is a major issue reported by ISPs, who want to make it easy to set up their mail/news servers and minimize tech support related to customer setup. Susie - how is your proposal different from the info required in the Mail account Setup Wizard today? I believe we ask for "Outgoing Server" in the intitial state, and then after that we something like: "judge is set as your outgoing server (SMTP). To change this go to Edit|Mail/News Account Settings," etc. Why is this not working? Adding nsbranch to make sure this gets solved (even if it turns out to be invalid).

+ once an account exist If you create a new mail account you have to stick with the default smtp server, and I have yet to find a way to change a smtp server associated with an account.

Try: 1. Edit | Mail/News Account Settings 2. Choose Account Level ("foo@bar.com," or "Work Account" or whatever you have that account named) 3. Click on "Advanced" button 4. Use drop down to select a new SMTP server for that account Does that not accomplish it?

not an eMojo stopper. I also think this is a WFM as we have the account manager and the account wizard which do what this bug requests.

I think this can be deprioritized since there is that SMTP/Advanced feature and it's documented in Help. I also think this is really a usability issue, regarding mail preferences. It isn't clear: 1. why STMP server selection is on the main mail account screen versus on the Server Settings screen 2. why the SMTP server selection is behind an "Advanced" button rather than a button that says "SMTP server"...unless the idea is more advanced options will be added. If it is moved onto the Server Settings page, displaying the SMTP server pulldown menu would be a nice n easy user experience. (I personally went through the hunt for SMTP settings last week which is why I have this input :-)
