I ran this test on release. I did a similar test on Aurora, which suggests the problem exists there as well. Do we have multi-locale builds of mozilla-central?

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/nightly/latest-mozilla-central-android/ I can confirm that this issue exists on Nightly as well. I wonder if this ever worked?

(In reply to Aaron Train [:aaronmt] from comment #3) > I wonder if this ever worked? I have no knowledge, but I suspect it has been this way ever since Fennec moved off XUL.

You just picked an example that we don't yet cover in our sparse l10n setup for gecko. Gecko is localized, just this one element is not. dom/chrome/layout/HtmlForm.properties needs to be added to the magic of bug 792077. bug 933272 is a similar current bug.
Blocks: 792077
Summary: Gecko locale is en-US even when Fennec UI locale isn't → Add dom/chrome/layout/HtmlForm.properties to the localized gecko files in the multi-locale fennec builds

(In reply to Axel Hecht [:Pike] from comment #5) > Gecko is localized, just this one element is not. Indeed bug 910192 takes effect on Android.
