Firefox metro team is implementing sharing profile for Windows 8/metro. An icon of relaunch pages in Metro is needed on Australis style menu panel. To ensure discoverability for Win8 users, this action needs to stay on the menu panel by default.

If Firefox has been set as default, clicking on this action will close Classic FX and relaunch pages in Metro directly. If Firefox is not the default, Firefox will prompt the users to set Firefox as default first, then relaunch in Metro.

This bug is created to track wording and visual assets only.

Any update on this artwork?

Please find the attached options for the Windows "Metro Mode"

v1a: Places "Metro Mode" at the bottom, giving it more alignment with the Customize, quit and help functionality.

v1b: Places "Metro Mode within common functionality like "New Window" and "History".

I can go either way in this case, though, I feel that the v1a placing seems more appropriate for a "switching view" function.

Thoughts?
I think just the button is sufficient, what do you think Yuan?
Also we currently use the text Windows 8 Style brand-name, that might be too long. Maybe we should just call it Modern UI?
Both images look great by the way :)
I agree with Michael, v1a differentiates a switching function from other contextual commands. It also indicates that this function is not supposed to be customized or hidden behind the menu panel. And it gives more space for the label.

Since Microsoft didn't really confirm the term: Modern UI, I think it's better to keep using the original name: Windows 8 style brand-name for now.
Sounds great, thanks for the quick decision on it :)

Michael, could we please have a set of 3 16x16 metro icons for the image in the v1a mock, similar to the customize icons here? Thanks!

After further discussion, we have decided to go with option v1b, as the bottom footer should be reserved for customize, help and quit.

We are going to be testing the following names:

• Firefox Touch

• Firefox Emersive

*Immersive
Yes, "Immersive". Thanks, Brian.

In that case, I believe we'll need an 18x18 metro icon added to this Toolbar.png file (and perhaps also Toolbar-inverted.png)

Resized.

Attached file toolbars.zip
Would we be able to get those icons added to these pngs please? Just for consistency since all the other toolbar icons are there. Thanks!

Marina, can you provide the source files?

The toolbars.zip attachment has the pngs that I'm referring to.

Talked with Stephen and he recommended a unique sprite set for this version of Windows.

Hi Michael, thanks! One more thing, I missed this before, but we'd also like the metro icon added to the menuPanel.png file I've attached here please. Thank you!

Menu Sprites attached.

This looks like it'll have strings, marking accordingly. Please revert if this is incorrect.

OS: Windows 8 Metro → Windows 8.1
I believe the changes are made elsewhere already. Post the changes here for the record:

"Windows 8 Touch" for the icon label.
"Relaunch in *Brand* for Windows 8 Touch" for the tooltip.
