This is what happened to me. Say you are filling additional comments on a bug.
You wrote a lot already. Then you realize this bug can be better described with
some keywords, but you don't remember exactly what they are. So you click on the
keywords link above, and forgets to hold CTRL, or something goes wrong when you
click, and the keywords description page loads in the place where you just wrote
your additional comments on the bug. Well, I think I don't have to tell you that
you'll have to write it all over again.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open URL
2. Type anything in the additional comments field
3. Click keywords or another link on the page

Actual Results: When you click the back button, your comments were lost

Expected Results: Mozilla should remember your data.

Marcos.

This *is* working on WinNT build 2001080303. Reporter, try upgrading.
No, this is not fixed in the latest builds, id:080303.

Try loading a few different URLs, and going back after each one, eventually the
form contents will disappear.

Reproducible: Sometimes.

Confirmed again with build id: 081003, Win98.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Type some comments on this page, in "Additional Comments"
2. Load www.cnet.com
3. Before the page loads, hit the back button.

Result: Your previously typed comments will be lost.

Marcos.
Now, this is VERY weird. (build id: 081003, Win98)

Steps to reproduce:

1. Type some comments on this page, in "Additional Comments"
2. Load www.cnet.com
3. Before the page loads, hit the back button.

Partial Result: Your previously typed comments will be lost.

Now, the weird part:
4. Click the forward button, and wait the page to fully load.
5. Hit Back

Result: Your previously typed comments will re-appear!!

Maybe dup of bug 41555

Summary: Form contents being lost if another page is loaded → Pressing Back.Btn while page was loading makes form fields disapear on previous page
Summary: Pressing Back.Btn while page was loading makes form fields disapear on previous page → Going Back while page was loading makes form fields disapear on previous page
The symptoms here are similar to those in bug 89703, navigating session history
quickly appears to lose form data. In both bugs, the form data can be
recovered by navigating slowly to another page and then hitting back.
Summary: Going Back while page was loading makes form fields disapear on previous page → Going Back while page was loading makes form fields disappear on previous page
*** Bug 89703 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Yeah, I can see this on 2001090308.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
Status: NEW → ASSIGNED
Target Milestone: --- → mozilla1.1
The missing form data can also be recovered by simply reloading the page with
the form.
This is the same problem as bug 92820, "Back button doesn't return to scroll
position if new page hasn't finished loading".
WFM 112003 Win98.
Strange, WFM on Win98 build id 2001112303 too, maybe some change on the code
has indirectly fixed this.

Marcos.
Marking WFM per reporter's comment.
