User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20131028112627

Steps to reproduce:

I tried to add a couple of Search Engines to Firefox 25.0.

Actual results:

The plugin was not installed. I received the error message "Sorry, you need a Mozilla-based browser (such as Firefox) to install a search plugin.".

Expected results:

A new Search Engine should have been installed.

Summary: Unable to install Search Engines in Firefox → Unable to install Search Engines in Firefox 25.0
I first noticed this bug on my previous computer which used Ubuntu 12.04. My current one uses Ubuntu 13.04. I received it quite recently so this was the next step in getting it set up with all my preferences.
Works for me with firefox-25.0.ru.linux64. Is it Firefox from www.mozilla.org, or is it from Ubuntu?

If you cannot reproduce it with a build from Mozilla, please report it in the Ubuntu bug tracker: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bugs Thanks.
OK thanks.

Resolution: --- → WONTFIX
WONTFIX is when what is described happens but the developers decided not to fix it.
Resolution: WONTFIX → INVALID
Since I reported the issue, I was able to install DRAE (maybe a few weeks ago). I haven't noticed the bug for a while, and I have all the search engines that I want for now, so I'm unlikely to notice if the bug continues for a fair while into the future.

Again (as in bug 94067 and bug 93372) I can't tell what you are trying to do.
I think this bug is closed and is no longer an issue. We don't need to pay attention to it.
