Description

4 years ago
Phone:
Alcatel One Touch

Firefox OS Version:
1.1.0.0-prerelease

Issue Details:
I tried setting up my email. I have a gmail account. When I entered my username and password and tapped Next, I got:

"You must use an application-specific password for two-factor Gmail accounts. [needs app pass]".

I do have two-factor auth enabled. But there was no obvious way to enter the application-specific password on the New Account screen, or on the Manual Setup screen.

Associated App:
E-mail
An application-specific password is defined on gmail directly for target apps. See https://support.google.com/mail/answer/1173270?hl=en.
Component: BetaTriage → Gaia::E-Mail
To clarify, you enter the application-specific password as your password in the new account screen or manual setup screen. The e-mail app does not want your actual password in this case.

Note: If you encounter pain typing in the password, note that we already have a bug on adding a "show password" box to decrease the pain.

Thanks, what :jsmith and :asuth suggested worked for me. However, may I suggest that the initial error message give some sort of hint about what to do next? Maybe tapping the error message could open a browser info with the same info as those two comments.
