Under Windows 2000, I don't see any difference in small-caps in the following line: <p>Small-caps <span style="font-variant: small-caps">ABCD</span> instead of ABCD.</p>
I don't see any problem with the handling of small-caps. According to the spec: http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-CSS2/fonts.html#propdef-font-variant, it only affects lowercase letters, so you SHOULDN'T see any difference in your sample code. Just try this: <span style="font-variant: small-caps">Small Caps</span>
