Issue Details:
The e-mail app doesn't seem to sync automatically. It does sync when I open the app, but new email notifications don't get pushed to my phone. I'm not sure if this is on purpose or not. I can't find a setting to enable syncing. This is true whether I'm on wifi or the phone network.
Perhaps relatedly, the Twitter app doesn't notify me about mentions. I'm not sure if this is an app-specific problem or a problem with how notifications work on the phone.

This is an implemented/landed version 1.2 feature not available in v1.1. Can't comment on twitter.
