Hi. Could you test: 0) Be sure your Flash plugin and GPU drivers are up-to-date (type about:support to get technical details) 1) Start FF in safe mode: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode 2) Start FF with a clean profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles Is it better?

Hi Loic! Telling You as a SW tester, I don't see a reason for such a testing, because we would not be able to evaluate exit criteria. This is due to a fact that we have completely no info regarding fault reproduction. Most probably, it was just a single occasion, in other words, fault could be not reproducible, and in case of everything will be OK next time (I'm treating "better" in such a way :) it does not proof nothing. IMHO, we need static analysis (strict code review) at first on current stage, both source and compiled version. In case nothing would be found, we can postpone this issue assuming its an environment problem, how do You think? P.S. How are You there in France? :)

These steps are for basic troubleshooting, no more no less. In addition, type about:crashes in the location bar and check if there are some crash reports about Firefox hangs (bp-...). If yes, paste some links here.

Hi Dima, The troubleshooting steps are quite as useless as one might think. There are many cases where such a bug is caused by Flash or a GPU driver, in which case we need to know if it happens with the latest version of the corresponding third party. If it doesn't reproduce this way, the problem is already solved. Otherwise, we need to see what can be done on our part to prevent this issue from getting to too many users. The safe mode/clean profile testing is usually requested because many bugs are produced by profiles that got messed up in time (by certain add-ons, other third party sw etc). If this is the case, there is nothing to be done on our side, you just need to reset your profile. These steps help us ensure we don't spend too much time investigating an issue that is not actually a valid Firefox bug, ergo wasting time that could have been used actually fixing something. If you did get to do this testing, please update this bug with your results. Thank you :)

Closing this bug for lack of further information from the reporter.
