Use case example:

To remix the Rainy Day tutorial, I need to find the rainy day make and hit remix. Then I need to know that the tutorial is attached via tags. I click on the publish button (even though I haven't changed anything) and have to write down or remember the tutorial URL and open a new browser tab to type it in. Then I hit remix on the tutorial itself. I make my changes to the tutorial, without having easy access to the make itself (sure, I've got it open in another tab, but I have to switch back and forth – which means I have to memorize rather than reference). I'm likely switching back and forth, editing both the make and the tutorial simultaneously, because my tutorial is teaching the cycling of water in and out of the atmosphere, HTML/CSS/JS are secondary learning objectives built in because I'm an awesome, future-focused teacher.

This was easy for me, but I think this is a clunky remix path for most. I'm curious to figure out how we can make it easier for people.

work is underway that will allow for this through a new kind of interaction

Is there a bug number to track that work in progress for that "new kind of interaction"?

apologies for never responding; there isn't really a bug for it, it's one of the things on the webmaker develop agenda that needs to be fleshed out more clearly before bugs are getting filed to start tackling specific parts of it. I can't give you a timeframe on when that happens, given the current activities.
