Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20131025151332
Steps to reproduce:
Not every time since resetting Firefox (was every time prior to reset), just showed up with Version 25: x-out of Firefox.
Actual results:
Try to open new session later and get the 'Firefox is already running but not responding'.
Log off computer and 'closing background session' appears prior to logoff. Log back on and Firefox will restart as usual.
Expected results:
Firefox should open.

Could you please try the following, to see if you still reproduce the issue :
1) try this with a clean profile: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
2) running in Safe mode: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
Manuela, cleaned profile got me where I was. Safe mode wouldn't really do anything as the problem was opening a session after closing a previous one, not during a single session. However, the latest update (25.1) seems to have cured the problem. Thanks for the interest.
