From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.2) Gecko/20010628 BuildID: 2001062815 when trying to view the tif file directly a new browser was opened. This new browser had the same url, so that spawned a new browser. This just kept going and going and going (The Duracell Bunny Bug? ;) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Enter URL in address bar 2.hit return Actual Results: New window opened, which opened another, which opened another, etc, etc. Expected Results: Either viewed or asked to download the tif file. The tif is a non-compressed, PC-format. Not sure if this might be a quicktime thing, though, if so then it should be under ther plug-ins component list, I guess?
I just get a dialog that says that Mozilla does not know what to do with .tiff when using a Linux build. I bet this is what's going on: 1) Mozilla does not know how to handle .tiff 2) It checks the registry to see what it should do 3) The registry says that the system's web browser should handle this (or maybe even that Mozilla should handle this, depending on what the installer did with file associations) 4) Mozilla opens Mozilla to handle the graphic 5) See #1 Over to installer for now. If we are not associating mozilla to tiff, then something else is up and the installer people should punt accordingly. ccing timeless because he knows things about general windows stuff,

the installer does *one* thing: installs mozilla! everything else like setting up which browser to use when viewing html pages or which images to show inline is done/setup in the browser.

dupe of 91616 perhaps?
Henrik, the installer also sets up Mozilla's file associations in the windows registry, if I recall...
