Steps to reproduce:

middle clicked anywhere on any page


Actual results:

was redirected to a different webpage


Expected results:

should have option to not be redirected to other webpage. Only when clicking links should firefox go to that webpage
Set the middlemouse.contentLoadURL pref in about:config to false.

I'm afraid this is going to be marked duplicate of bug 366945.  There is bug 96972 for SeaMonkey.  But since it is not marked duplicate (while bug 135884 was, apparently as concerning defaults), maybe this one will not be, either.

That bug is not the same. That does not involve giving the user an option to turn it off at all. This one does.

We shouldn't add a UI toggle for this; the preferences are big enough as it is and people won't need to change this frequently (if at all).
