>>Project/Request Title:
December 2013 Facebook Graphic request 3

>>Project Overview:
1) Another holiday shopping post, this time around add-ons that can save you money. Perhaps a graphic of different monetary symbols? Dollar sign, Euro, peso, real, etc.

2) 13 Best Add-ons of 2013
(PS - Jess is also requesting something on this for her email design in December, can be the same theme)
Need a graphic with no text that conveys the idea of the 13 best add ons of 2013. I really like the Add-ons mascot, he looks like a fox Inspector Gadget. Or, maybe it's a calendar with 2013 circled and a tool box for add-ons. It's a really fun story, I'd like the graphic to be really fun, too. The copy is here for reference: https://docs.google.com/a/mozilla.com/document/d/1MNiGdDKZKxeZHXQxFVxARL0i0-r8XHePNyPS5AZDa_w/edit

3) Speed it up!
We are telling folks to get the latest version of Firefox, it's the fastest version. Could be the Firefox speedometer, but we've used that in the last few months.

John, this is due while I'm out, can you be final approver? Michaela will help if needed.

hi guys, I've attached a concept for the best add-ons graphic. The goal was to play up the fun factor with this one, so I've worked in Carmen suggestion of a toolbox bursting open with generic add-on icons. Let me know what you think of this idea.
That is certainly a fun graphic! Love the look of it. Only uncertainty is whether it's clearly enough about add-ons...did you consider using real logos instead of generic ones? Not sure if that's the way to go, just asking.
Thanks John. I find working with the real add-on logos a bit tricky since they are often too small in res size. I was going along the lines of the add-ons promo video which used a generic but cohesive looking set of visuals to portray the idea of variety. On that note, would we be able to leverage those graphics for this?

Here's what I am thinking could work for the holiday shopping post. I've made use of Carmen's suggestion to use the various currency symbols.
Here is another option we could go with to represent add-ons.
Here is a new take on the speedometer idea.
Hi Matt. Thanks for these, and sorry for the slow reply.

Holiday shopping: looks good, but can you make any tweaks to give it a more generically 'holiday' feel? The color palette feels pretty pastel and warm weather-ish.

Addons: we've pretty much phased out that character, so would rather stick with your earlier approach. Although I believe Lee may also be cooking something up? Where do we stand there?

Speedometer: looks great
I started cooking up something last night before I knew that Matt was also taking a stab at the fun promo for social channel. My direction stemmed from the End of Year infographic that I just completed http://cl.ly/image/2j061K2x0213 - figuring since it was a "best of 2013" that the year-end theme seemed like it could tie in. I changed the background colors (to orange and blue) to keep it Firefox-centric though.

I like what Matt has been working on - I think stylistically, these could marry well: the chest of exploding Add-ons + the 13for'13 mark.

I'm hoping we can nail down a direction soon, as there's a separate bug for the 13 for '13 promos on Moz.org folks are waiting for - and it would be nice if the assets could match.
Thanks for the feedback, I've added a bit more vibrancy to the colours to make them a bit sharper and richer.

Looks good!

Thanks Lee, I love the direction you're going with for this. I've updated my toolbox post with a similar colour palette to tie closer into what you have established. I would like to include the logo you created, but it appears as though Carmen has requested no text to appear other than the year, since these would need to be localized.

This is another one that I was working on that incorporates the logo Lee created.

Awesome, thanks Matt. I still like the toolbox one. To emphasize the add-ons connection, what do you think about putting the generic icons from your earlier version onto the puzzle pieces?

Here is the version with the original add-on icons combined with the puzzle pieces.

Looks great! One last thought, and sorry for not catching this earlier - should we say "Add-ons" on the toolbox like before? My understanding is that we wouldn't have to translate that phrase.
Matt, I like how you incorporated the puzzle pieces into the graphic in Comment 12. Would you mind sending me the AI - maybe I can incorporate what you did here, to the Moz.org graphics. Thanks!
John, I've updated with an 'Add-ons' sticker, as opposed to how I had it in the earlier post...I thought it would start to get too busy in that space with the puzzle pieces.

Perfect. I think we're done here!
Thanks Lee, here is a link to the PSD which makes use of vector puzzle piece shapes.
