From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.3+) Gecko/20010803 BuildID: 2001080321 I go to visit http://directory.google.com (or other sites) and click on one (any one) of the subcategories and get a 404 error. Yes, this could be a google error, but simultaneous attempts to get the page with another browser or program (ie Konqueror, curl) seem to work fine. Some more information. When I visit one of these pages, I often find that in the bottom of the window (where it will eventually say "Document:Done") that it claims to be going to another site. I'm running tomcat on my local machine as part of a development effort and when I loaded the tomcat page, it worked fine, then I tried to visit a sun.com page linked to from the tomcat page and mozilla tried to get it from my machine. The relevant lines from the tomcat server follow (these should have been sent to http://java/sun.com : 127.0.0.1 - - [08/Aug/2001:07:55:27 -0800] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 302 240 127.0.0.1 - - [08/Aug/2001:07:55:30 -0800] "GET /products/servlet HTTP/1.1" 404 211 127.0.0.1 - - [08/Aug/2001:07:55:32 -0800] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 302 240 127.0.0.1 - - [08/Aug/2001:07:55:35 -0800] "GET /products/jsp HTTP/1.1" 404 203 So, in summary, this seems to happen when you go from one site to another site and mozilla does not change the hostname appropriately. It does not happen on every site change, but happens quite frequently.

Are you using junkbuster, or another proxy server? If so, which one?

Hmm. I am using junkbuster and turning off junkbuster seems to have removed the problems. Odd though that the problem only showed up in the last couple of versions of mozilla.
