User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20131112160018 Steps to reproduce: Updated TB to 24.1.1. Windows 7 is latest version. Actual results: New message notification icon pops up in system tray when new mail is received. After less than a minute the notification icon disappears. Expected results: Notification icon should display until clicked on the retrieve new messages. That's what it's always done in the past.
That's likely a Windows 7 issue. Click on the little double-up arrow in the Windows taskbar and select "Customize" to open the dialog window. Browse through the list to find the one associated with the new-mail notification and switch it to "Show icons and notifications" rather than "Only show notifications" which will hide it in the extended panel after the notification time has passed.
After several reboots (installing updates of other programs) the problem went away. No idea what caused it in the first place. Had already tried rebooting.
let's call this invalid (assuming it's windows)
