Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:28.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/28.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20131201030203

Steps to reproduce:

open firefox and webpages

Actual results:

Firefox using upwards of 300mb of ram, was getting close to 500mb and 47 CPU threads+ a high percentage of CPU, top of the list in activity monitor

Expected results:

Most other web browsers use much lower levels of RAM and are less CPU intensive compared to firefox, I would use firefox full time if it was easier on my computer

Did you test with a clean profile or in safe mode?

What websites are you visiting? Is the CPU still high after the pages are loaded? Thank you

My firefox 28.0b3 has a high consumtion of ram, now is using 200mb and %0,6 of my CPU. I'm testing with windows 8 and I don't have so many pages opened. It depends on the usage, and in the add ones that you have.
200 MB is standard, nothing high.
samuel.j, are you still seeing this problem with Firefox 28 and in safe mode? If not, I'll close the bug as incomplete since we weren't able to replicate the bug. If you're still seeing this behavior, we should take another look. Thanks!
samuel.j, if you still need help with Firefox support you might try asking this question at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions or checking some of the steps listed here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-uses-too-many-cpu-resources-how-fix?esab=a&s=cpu+&r=0&as=s

If you keep getting the same issue you can re-open this bug! Thanks.
