945725 - when setting download updates to 'never' in fennec nightly, I continue to get updates

I have a galaxy s3 as my personal phone with fennec nightly installed.  I went to:
Settings->Customize->'Download updates automatically': and set the value to 'Never'.

later that night I saw the little icon in my status bar which indicates an update is available.  

To be fair, I have a scenario where I had removed the 'Download' folder and the updates failed to download, I am not sure if this *artificial* error condition is to blame.  I have recreated the folder and will see if I get prompted to install.

could be a dup of bug 805431 which was resolved 13 months ago.

I got a download prompt after creating the Download folder.  So we are not downloading it, just offering it up for download.  This bug must be related to the lack of 'Download' folder.

That's strange. The logcat that you showed me definitely indicated it was going to attempt a download. I wonder if the problem somehow fixed itself...

does it attempt and verify it can get the download, but not do it?
