User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Ubuntu Chromium/30.0.1599.114 Chrome/30.0.1599.114 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: I dont know why, but in the work many times the menu is blocked and then grey. They are not open thunderbird windows and the only resultion is, to close thunderbird, wait that the thunderbird tasks are closed all to and restart! Actual results: I can use all something, as write a new mail, can click on "Get Mail" - "Write" and something on, but I cant click in the bottom menu expl. File View go ... and when I write a mail, I cant click in Smilies, Fonts and in the top menu for options, expl to get a responder, that the mail was accept in the receiver server and so on! Expected results: This bug comes in the last version before many many many times and in the new version less times, but this is horrable, when in the middle way you write a mail, you cant use the options - from one time to another!
vario, what's the type of account you're using: POP or IMAP?
IMAP, but I mean this is not a problem of IMAP?! I receive again a new update and I am not sure, but possible, the problem comes less times.

This looks like TB stops responding for some reason. But I have never experienced that.
We have a possible related problem with multiple IMAP accounts and Thunderbird startup. We have multiple (e.g. 7) IMAP accounts and "Check for new messages at startup" selected. At startup, thunderbird (31.0) window keeps gray for 20s, like a deadlock. Thunderbird is drawing all stuff and works fine afterwards. If you deselect "Check for new messages at startup" for each account, Thunderbird starts up in 4s. Looks like the gui thread is blocked.

I think we also disable all the toolbars when sending the message or saving as draft. But should not disable it when the automatic periodic draft saving is in progress. See bug 271730. So this would need further observations from the reporter. I think it is not clear from the report whether only the compose window is disabled, or also the main TB window.
