Steps to reproduce:

I created several filters in Thunderbird but they didn't work automatically, When I started them manually, everything works fine. The moved in the created folders.
Same problem here, except I can't get them to work even manually, even the most simple (should match everything). Turned on filter log, nothing in that; nothing in error log; tried multiple folders.
Erik, do you still see this issue when using a newer version?

Summary: Filter in Thunderbird v.24.1.1 under Mac Maverick do not work automatically → Filter do not work automatically
I have had this problem since updating to TB 38.3.
The problem went away for me after I deleted and recreated the .msf file for the destination file for Cactus Spam. The "Cactus Spam" TB filter was not moving spam into that file, because somehow the .msf file had been corrupted.
