Details
(Whiteboard: [fxos-bug-bash-1.2])
Description:
When someone sends me a message it is not appearing on the Buri 1.2 device I'm using to test. If I swap my SIM into my Keon 1.1 device the message comes through.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have someone send you a message
Expected Results:
A notification appears indicating a new message.
Actual Results:
No notification appears after several minutes.
Additional Notes:
I also tried opening the Messages app and it didn't show up there either. I don't know if this is related to bug 949826 or not.
Environmental Variables:
Version: 1.2
Device: Buri
Build Date: 12/12/2013
RIL Type: Commercial

FWIW it works fine on the latest 1.2 build from geeksphone, on a Peak.

I don't have a 1.1 Buri device to test, sorry.

That's fine - I'm asking one of our contractors to look into this.

I was unable to repro on Buri 1.2 mozilla or 1.1 commercial RILs. Both devices received SMS, MMS and SMS/MMS messages with no errors.

Can you also test on your buri 1.2 with Commercial RIL ?
Then, if this works (which I expect), we'll need to understand why this didn't work for Anthony.

Sounds like another com ril issue. I'm guessing this is because we're out of date.
mvines - Can you double check that this is already fixed?
Component: Gaia::SMS → Vendcom

Hey Anthony,
Could you download the taipei repo ( https://github.com/Mozilla-TWQA/B2G-flash-tool ) for the tools and run the ./check_version.sh script please? I'm curious which version of the OEM base build you might be on.
Also we would want to check the version of the RIL :
adb shell cat /system/b2g/distribution/bundles/libqc_b2g_ril.version
Thanks!

This wasn't on my phone. It was a device I had borrowed from Tony to assist in yesterday's bug bash.
