The site finishes loading, however the progress meter in the status bar loops
and mozilla as a whole becomes sluggish.

The javascript console displays the following over and over again:

I am using 0.9.3 and 2001081209 on linux, the nightly build also has the quirk
of offering a download dialog (file of type "Hyper Text Markup Language"
[text/html]) after I close the browser window.

Sorry, I have no idea which component this bug belongs to. I am just taking a
wild guess with DOM Level 0.
Netscape 4.77 has no problems with the site.

This is down to faulty javascript. The site seems to identify mozilla as ns and
assume that we have layers. It then gets into a very icky for loop trying to
iterate over all the layers, which gets itself into an infinite loop.
