Software Version: 18
Device Information: Android Samsung
Reporter's User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0
(When going to the textarea of Google, it is working).
So I guess the issue is specific to Etherpad and Firefox Android.

When using UCWeb, or Opera it is working.

What version of Firefox for Android are you using? Do you know if this is a regression?
Flags: needinfo?(kdubost)
"Mozilla/5.0 (Android; Mobile; rv:18.0) Gecko/18.0 Firefox/18.0"
I don't know if it's a regression. As I haven't used any other versions.

After I select some text from my favorite arstechnica, and I go to the new MoPad, I can't even tap into the text and receive a caret to trigger the actionbar to open.

If I longtap a word to start-a-selection-open-the-actionbar, then I see options for Select, Copy, Share, and Search, but (as stated) no paste option.
Apparently, the text in the left panel of the MoPad is enclosed in an HTMLSpanElement that's not being recognized as focused in browser.js

Fx18? Are you using this version by choice?

I'm not saying that this bug is fixed in the latest release, but a lot of other bugs are.

I didn't choose or thought I had to choose. It's the version of Firefox which was installed on the device when it has been given to me for testing Web Compat issues. Let me try to dig info about this device. I know it's a Samsung. It runs Android 2.3.5. Ah… it seems it is a GT-I9100 GINGERBREAD.

I'm testing over wifi. No sim card.

As long as the device has the Google Play Store application on it, you should be getting updates. These might not be automatic though. You might need to go into the Play Store application and manually approve the update. The current release version is Fx26.

Is this the same bug which also prohibits pasting text into an empty searchbar on google.com?

When typing a few characters and selecting them in the searchbar, "Paste" is offered, though.
