Details

This is the generic idea that plugin canvas should work inside div elements and also support transparency (alpha based) channel. We do have some examples for flash in use with transparent background (please look with recent IE): http://www.dana.com.br/cultura/default.htm (flash in the right area) http://www.skiingmag.com/ Note that the first example, not only the flash have transparent background, but also the div menu (top right) is DIV based and is over the flash canvas. This would be also interesting, so third-party plugin developers will be able to extend the browser behavior. Examples: * XBL code that create vector objects (lines, circles, etc). * Ability to use the plugin layout behavior in combination with the JS / HTML behavior. For example adding a shadow over the page or creating fade in / fade out transitions.
Summary: RFE - Plugins to be layered. → [RFE] Plugins to be layered
Windowless plugins support this behaviour. Windowless plugins are supported in Mozilla, as of 0.9.2 initially and lots of bug fixes in 0.9.3 (and the NS6.1 branch I think).
