User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20131205075310 Steps to reproduce: Print (ctrl-p) produced the option to print or print-to-file. I selected print-to-file and typed in a filename. The target was listed as filesystem. Usually I get a dialog asking where to store the file but that did NOT happen in this case. My preferences have the "always ask me where to save files" and another site where I usually print from DID ask me where to save files. Actual results: File was saved (printed to a file) in /. Expected results: I would expect a dialog asking me where to save the file instead of just saving the file w/o the dialog.
In the Print dialog, after you click on "Print to File" there is a option to save the file right under the "Name" field (Save in folder). I don`t think that the dialog asking where to save the file should appear since you already selected where to save it. Can you give us an example of a website where the dialog appears when selecting Pring?

Bogdan, Thanks for your response. The site is the EDD (Unemployment) web site where you certify that you've looked for work but have not found it. You would have to do all the things needed to file a claim (rather difficult for you I think). In trying to find a site where this failed, I tried printing various URLs and found that the notification that a file already exists was not appearing even though I had printed to the same file and file location. I'll have to search more for URLs who exhibit this problem. George...

This works for me with latest Aurora, Firefox 25 & 26, on Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit as mentioned in comment 1, when trying to print to file this .pdf: http://www.bluej.org/tutorial/testing-tutorial.pdf I also believe the expected behavior is the one described in comment 1. George, please post here the URLs that aren't working. Could you please try the following : 1) try this with a clean profile: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles 2) running in Safe mode: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
Please reopen the bug if you still see this issue.
