95289 - stale npcdt.dll causes component reg error after clean install

Dan et al, 

This is yet-another registration error on startup, but I didn't want to 
toss this into the other reports, because my brain is small and they were
confusing me with noise. 

However, I can give you specifics:

1) I installed _commercial_ 2001-08-14-12-trunk into a _clean_ directory.

2) When the browser is starting for the first time, I get the message

"The procedure entry point ?NS_NewGenericModule@@YAIPBDIPAUnsModuleCompo\
nentInfo@@P6AXPAVnsIModule@@ZPAPAV2@@Z could not be located in the dynam\
ic link library xpcom.dll"

3) On a subsequent start (component.reg already created), I don't get that
   message.

4) In my components directory, I have these two outdated files:
     07/02/2001  04:18p                 642 npcdt.xpt
     07/03/2001  11:22a              41,472 npcdt.dll  

'npcdt.dll' says it is "CDTool Module" (this is some comm. addin thing right?)

5) If I (a) rename npcdt.dll to npcdt.dllXXX, and npcdt.xpt to npcdt.xptXXX,
   AND delete component.reg, and then restart, I do NOT get the error.

6) If I put npcdt.dll and npcdt.xpt back in place, AND delete component.reg, 
   and then restart, I DO get the error.

Okay, so that is the culprit in the commercial builds installed into a new 
directory. Other reports, with people reinstalling over existing content, 
and dealing with mozilla builds (with no CDTool) are another matter. 

So, dup this if you want, but this is one part of the problem that Netscape
people are seeing.

Alright, where do we get the CDT files? they aren't in the build, someone gets
them for us. We need a new version for eMojo.

this should probably be in bugscape since it sounds like a Netscape issue.

We get the CDT files from back east via NSCP Marketing and leaf drops them on
the shelf for packaging in the commercial builds.
