Steps to reproduce:

Went to the SO Winter Bash: http://winterbash2013.stackexchange.com/

This was on a dual-core Pentium 3ghz, 2gb ram Ubuntu 12.04 machine, with crummy integrated graphics card.


Actual results:

The browser became unresponsive when viewing the page, and switching to any other tab works, but it takes several minutes for it to draw that page, and finally show that you clicked that tab. Once shown, it takes a looong time to scroll on that page.


Expected results:

There should at least be some visual feedback that you are switching to a tab, ideally this shouldn't take several minutes though!

Could you please try the following, to see if you still reproduce the issue:

1) running in Safe mode:

2) try this with a clean profile:
http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

Actually, after upgrading to the latest nightly, it works just fine :)
