For a few weeks now, Firefox (latest x64 Nightly on Win 8.1 Pro x64) freezes constantly on typing into the main searchbar ("awesomebar") of Facebook. The problem is interesting as it is: - reproducible (9 out of 10 times at least it occurs) - no "script not responding" window appears - no real crash is occuring (no crash report is sent, about:crashes does not log the event), but a deadlock (windows app manager reports firefox as "not responding", too). Is this a known issue that is affecting other users, or this might have something to do with my machine/setup? (PS: also, I remember this occuring on my work machine, on Nightly, Win7, x64 - which is obviously a different profile/setup)
Are you using Desktop or Metro Nightly
This is plain desktop-style Nightly, not the Metro-flavoured one. I've spent some time on the issue, tried starting Firefox in safe mode, add-ons disabled, even - no luck there. As it turns out not only the main search bar, but the /messaging search-filter is affected too - I can quite reliably lock up firefox by typing at least two to three characters in rapid succession into the search field - however, when after having typed a single character, if I wait the ajax request to load (facebook starts search/filtering on first typed character), after that, I can not reproduce the issue until I reload the page: I can then type as fast as I can, as many characters as I seem fit -- no lock-up. Don't know if the above might help identifying the problem.
Could you check with clean new profile and report back to us
A completely new profile doesn't seem to address the problem. Also, launching stable Firefox (26.0) with the exact same profile doesn't exhibit this strange freezing behavior.

Issue seems to be solved, or, at least, no more reproducible on several different machines I use Nightly on. Yay!
