This problem has been around on the truck for several weeks now, but I kept assuming it was something I was doing wrong.  The error I'm getting is:

"Error: Received unexpected response from
http://api.oscar.aol.com/aim/startOSCARSession"

I haven't tested to see if this bug is in the release version of 0.2b1 or not.

Hi,

Thanks for your bug report.

Adding some information here:
- Does Not work on Windows (Last Nightly)
- Works on GNU/Linux (compiled from the most recent sources)
- Works on Windows With Pidgin 2.6.4

I asked for blocker, since AIM is still used a lot in some countries, and windows is the most used OS for our users.

Can you confirm that the problem disappears when unchecking the "Use clientLogin" option in the Advanced Options of the account?

Up to Instantbird 0.2b1/libpurple 2.6.3 this preference was off by default.

Confirmed here as well.  Can you guys force this setting for this client in future builds?
