You can access the log viewer from context menus on the buddy list and the tab of a conversation already. A new dialog would only duplicate the buddy/contact list to select the user that you'd like to see the log files for.

A more detailed description could really help here!

I think (but really, I'm only guessing here) that Azat is annoyed by the current inability to display a log for a conversation which is no longer in a tab and was with someone who is not in the buddy list (someone who sent private messages on IRC for example).

Saw this bug too late - I just filed comment #2 as bug 954670 (bio 1238). But I am not sure it was the intent of the reporter of this bug anyway.

Since this bug has had a reply by the reporter and a specific request was filed in bug 954670 (bio 1238), I'm going to close this bug as INVALID. If your request is not covered by bug 954670 (bio 1238), please reopen this bug or file a new bug.
