Here some thoughts which might make me much happier with Instantbird.

1. Don't set onlinestatus to available / online on start. This should be managable for every account separately. For instance if i start Instantbird i want to go invisible on ICQ and busy on MSN at the same time.

2. add more options for status to each account, like available, hidden, busy etc. Changing the status for one account should leave other accounts untouched.

3. add an option to have every messenger service with user-list on a separate tab. 
In the moment it looks near the same ugly like pidgin. Or make the user decide in UI options what he likes more.

4. add a funktion to set the status to online for single user on contact-list only (like MSN 2011)

5. add a funktion to block  / set invisible for a single user on contact-list

6. add funtionallity to show the profile of a user on the contact-list

7. add video-chat funktion


First thoughts after using IntantBird for 3 hours on Linux.

These are probably not something we would support in the core (making it separate per account), but we'd like to make it easy for add-ons to implement this.

I don't think this is something we'd want to support (although an add-on could implement it), Instantbird is a multi-protocol instant messaging client that AIMs to combine all your accounts together so you don't have to care what medium you're using to talk to people with. [1] has some more information on this.

I'm not sure this is really possible with the way libpurple is set up, but you could file a bug for it.

This is bug 953582 (bio 135).

You can see some of the information in the tooltip, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this.

This is bug 954004 (bio 568).
