I can't create patchs here, the change was pretty simple though: Added a |border: 2px dotted rgba(0,0,0,0.15);| to the rule |#userIcon[src=""]| in blist.css. Using "dashed" instead of "dotted" didn't look so good for me.

On the behalf of Florian: Closing bugs related to the Instantbird UI as WONTFIX, as the development of the standalone chat client Instantbird has stopped. Instantbird users are encouraged to migrate to Thunderbird. The user interface of instant messaging in Thunderbird will feel familiar, as the Thunderbird IM support started as a fork of Instantbird.

Instantbird users are encouraged to migrate to Thunderbird. The user interface of instant messaging in Thunderbird will feel familiar, as the Thunderbird IM support started as a fork of Instantbird.
