The context menus in question are the tab one (now also on the conv-top) and the browser one. (Should they be unified? I think not, but it has been suggested.)
Two main things to experiment with:
* Add some extra items
* Search
* include the target selector menu as a submenu
* Discoverability of keyboard shortcuts
* Add the keyboard shortcuts to the existing entries (Put on hold, Show logs, ...)
* Add entries to make other shortcuts discoverable (Alt-PgUp/Dn, Zoom)

Search sounds like a good idea for the browser context menu to make it more discoverable.
I'm not sure what good labels for the section jumps (Alt+PgUp/Down) could be. I'd like something like "Goto to first unread message", "Go to most recent message" but that doesn't exactly map to the section scroll feature (which is go to previous/next section). Maybe we could make it conditional, i.e. change the label depending on what is at the section borders?

*contextual (I mean that's what context menu's are about? :D)

There is now a keyboard shortcuts wiki page: https://wiki.instantbird.org/Keyboard_shortcuts

On the behalf of Florian:
Closing bugs related to the Instantbird UI as WONTFIX, as the development of the standalone chat client Instantbird has stopped. Instantbird users are encouraged to migrate to Thunderbird. The user interface of instant messaging in Thunderbird will feel familiar, as the Thunderbird IM support started as a fork of Instantbird.
