I find it confusing/annoying that every time I join devel@pidgin I get the backlog of messages from the server...but most of them have already been seen by me. It would be good to check incoming messages against messages that have already been logged and not display already seen messages (although maybe this would be annoying until something like bug 954392 (bio 958) is fixed).

This also creates a mess of my logs as I get the same messages over and over in them.

Note that this is only fixed for a single session, not across restarts. That's "good enough" for me though. :)
